Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has described Easter as a profound reminder of the triumph of life over death and light over darkness.

Governor Adeleke also urged Christians to reflect on its message of love, sacrifice and hope.

He made this known in a congratulatory message issued by his Spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed and addressed to Christians in Osun State and across the country on the celebration of Easter.

According to the statement, the governor noted that the essence of the celebration lies in selflessness and faith in a better future.

Governor Adeleke acknowledged the spiritual significance of the season, stressing that “the sacrifice of Jesus Christ calls for renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence and service to humanity.”

He reassured the Christian community in the state of his administration’s commitment to fairness, inclusiveness and the protection of religious freedom.

The Governor stated that his government remained dedicated to building a society where all citizens, regardless of faith, could thrive without fear or discrimination.

He urged Christians to imbibe the virtues of humility, forgiveness and love exemplified during the Easter period.

“These values are essential for strengthening unity and advancing the collective progress of the state,” he said.

While addressing residents, the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to sustain people-oriented governance and improve critical sectors affecting daily life.

He cautioned against individuals seeking to exploit religious sentiments for political gain, noting that such actions promote division.

“As we commemorate this sacred season, I urge all citizens to embrace its message of hope and renewal while praying for Osun State, Nigeria and leaders at all levels,” he stated.
