Alvarez to Arsenal on the cards?

Arsenal have received the green light to make a summer approach for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, according to Cadena SER in Spain.

The Gunners are expected to strengthen their attack ahead of next season, and it has been claimed that Alvarez could be a top target for them.

Arsenal are well covered upfront with Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz leading the line. Gabriel Jesus has been the third-choice striker.

Jesus’ departure could pave the way for a new arrival, but Alvarez is reportedly seen by manager Mikel Arteta as a left-wing solution.

Cadena SER now reveal that Alvarez has made up his mind to leave Atletico, and the La Liga outfit are fully aware of the striker’s decision too.

Barcelona have made first contact with Atletico, but Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are also in contact with the player’s entourage.

It is further claimed that the player himself has given the green light, and the onus is now on the Gunners to make a formal bid to sign him.

It could take more 120 million euros to persuade Atletico into a deal.
