Airtel Africa Plc has announced the applicable exchange rates and currency election arrangements for its final dividend payment for the financial year ended March 31, 2026.

The telecommunications and mobile money operator disclosed that shareholders will receive a final dividend of 4.26 U.S. cents per ordinary share, following approval by the Board of Directors.

The dividend is scheduled for payment on July 24, 2026, to shareholders whose names appear on the register at the close of business on June 19, 2026.

According to the company, shareholders on both the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) will have the option of choosing the currency in which they wish to receive their dividend payments.

For shareholders trading on the NGX, Airtel Africa stated that investors may elect to receive their dividend in either Nigerian naira or U.S. dollars.

Shareholders who fail to submit a currency election before the deadline will automatically receive payment in naira.

The company fixed July 6, 2026, as the deadline for submitting currency election requests through its registrar, Coronation Registrars Limited.

Airtel Africa also confirmed that June 17, 2026, will be the qualification date for shareholders seeking to participate in the dividend payment.

To facilitate the distribution, the company announced that the exchange rate applicable for shareholders choosing to receive payment in Nigerian currency has been set at ₦1,375.25 to one U.S. dollar.

The company further disclosed that shareholders on the London Stock Exchange may elect to receive their dividend in either U.S. dollars or British pounds. Those who do not make an election before the deadline will receive payment in U.S. dollars.

For UK shareholders opting for sterling payments, Airtel Africa fixed the exchange rate at £0.742115 to one U.S. dollar.

The exchange rates were determined using market rates available on May 29, 2026.

The announcement provides clarity for investors ahead of the dividend payment date and enables shareholders to make informed decisions regarding their preferred settlement currency, particularly amid ongoing fluctuations in foreign exchange markets.

Airtel Africa, which operates across 14 African countries, remains one of the continent’s largest telecommunications providers, serving millions of customers through its mobile voice, data and mobile money businesses.

The dividend payment forms part of the company’s commitment to returning value to shareholders while maintaining investment in network expansion, digital services and financial technology operations across its markets.
