James doubtful for England vs Mexico

Chelsea star Reece James remains doubtful for England’s round of 16 World Cup clash against Mexico on Sunday night.

The Three Lions progressed to the last 16 of the tournament following a hard-fought 2-1 win over DR Congo in Atlanta, USA.

Thomas Tuchel‘s side will now face co-hosts Mexico in Mexico City tomorrow. Ahead of the game, James remains uncertain.

James has missed the last couple of games against Panama and DR Congo with a hamstring injury, which was deemed to be minor.

He recently provided a positive injury update in an interview, but continues to face a race against time before the clash against Mexico.

England face a daunting challenge on their hands, given they will be playing at 2,200m above sea level, which rarely happens for them.

The recent game at Atlanta was at only 300m above sea level, and England’s fitness could be put to test against El Tri on Sunday night.
