Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has said that the club are ready to challenge for more silverware after their convincing win over Manchester City in the Community Shield.
The Gunners secured an easy 3-0 win over the Cityzens in Cardiff on Sunday. Odegaard was awarded the man of the match after a terrific all-round performance, which included a goal.
Speaking after the game, the playmaker said the club showed that they are serious and have their sights on winning more trophies this campaign.
He said: “I think we showed our level today & that we’re ready. I think we showed that we’re serious, we want to do it again – there’s more trophies to go for & that’s the aim.”
Arsenal were head and shoulders above Manchester City in the Community Shield, and they look good value to defend their Premier League title.
Still, manager Mikel Arteta feels the club need more quality in the squad, and there could be one or two marquee signings before the deadline.
