GTCO Gets NGX Extension To September 30 For H1 2026 Audited Results

Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc has secured additional time from the Nigerian Exchange Limited to publish its audited financial statements for the six months ended June 30, 2026 as it awaits regulatory approval.

In a notice dated August 20, 2026, GTCO said its board had already approved the half-year audited financial statements on July 28, 2026, but the results cannot be released to the market until approval is received from its primary regulator.

The financial services group subsequently requested an extension from the NGX for the publication of the results.

The Exchange approved the request, giving GTCO until September 30, 2026 to release its audited half-year financial statements, subject to the company obtaining the required regulatory clearance.

GTCO, however, said the September deadline does not mean investors will necessarily have to wait until then.

If regulatory approval is secured earlier, the company intends to publish the results immediately rather than wait until the expiration of the extension granted by the NGX.

The development means investors will have to wait longer for a detailed assessment of GTCO’s financial performance during the first six months of 2026.

The results are expected to provide further insight into the group’s profitability, interest and non-interest income, asset quality, balance-sheet growth and shareholder returns during the period.

They will also be closely watched as Nigerian banks continue to navigate the Central Bank of Nigeria’s recapitalisation programme and broader changes in the operating environment.

GTCO operates a diversified financial services structure built around banking and other financial businesses, with Guaranty Trust Bank remaining a major component of the group.

The delay is regulatory rather than a result of the board failing to complete its consideration of the accounts. The board approved the statements in July, with regulatory clearance now the outstanding requirement before publication.

The notice was signed by GTCO Group General Counsel and Company Secretary, Erhi Obebeduo.
