Fidelity Bank Secures NGX Extension To September 30 For H1 2026 Audited Results

Fidelity Bank Plc has secured approval from the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) to extend the deadline for publishing its audited financial statements for the half year ended June 30, 2026, to September 30, 2026.

The bank disclosed the development in a regulatory notice dated August 21, 2026, explaining that the audit of its half-year financial statements is still being finalised.

Upon completion of the audit, Fidelity Bank said the financial statements would be submitted to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for regulatory approval before being released to shareholders and the investing public.

The lender said the process could result in a delay beyond the publication timeline prescribed under NGX listing rules.

Consequently, Fidelity Bank sought and obtained approval from the NGX for an extension until September 30, subject to receiving the required CBN approval for its H1 2026 audited accounts.

“The audit is currently being finalized and upon completion, the AFS shall be presented to the Central Bank of Nigeria for approval and thereafter, published,” the bank said.

The development means investors may have to wait longer for details of Fidelity Bank’s financial performance during the first six months of 2026.

The H1 results are expected to provide further insight into the lender’s earnings, interest income, loan growth, asset quality and capital position during a period of significant changes across Nigeria’s banking industry.

Fidelity Bank also informed insiders and connected persons that the closed trading period covering its shares remains in force.

According to the lender, the trading window will remain closed until 24 hours after the H1 2026 audited financial statements are eventually published.

The restriction prevents insiders and connected persons with potential access to unpublished price-sensitive information from dealing in Fidelity Bank shares before the financial statements become publicly available.

Fidelity Bank joins Nigerian lenders navigating regulatory approval requirements before releasing their audited half-year financial statements to the market.

The September 30 extension provides the bank additional time to complete its audit and obtain CBN approval while remaining compliant with NGX reporting requirements.
