Taja has surpassed 50,000 Users and processed millions of dollars monthly in transactions.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Taja, a fintech company building cross-border payment infrastructure for Africa, has surpassed 50,000 users and now processes millions of dollars in monthly transaction volume, marking a growth milestone since its launch in 2024.

The company aims to simplify international payments by connecting African users to global financial systems through a unified platform for sending, receiving, converting and spending money across borders.

In a statement dated October 20, 2026, Taja said it operates across key African markets, including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Senegal, South Africa, Benin and Côte d’Ivoire, while connecting users to major global currencies and payment networks in the United Kingdom and the United States.

The company is positioning its platform as a “financial passport” for Africa, with services designed to help individuals and businesses manage international transactions with fewer barriers.

David Orovwiroro, CEO of Taja, said the company was established to address the difficulties individuals and businesses encounter when moving money across borders.

“We built Taja because moving money across borders shouldn’t feel like navigating a labyrinth,” Orovwiroro said.

“Our vision has always been about more than moving funds; it is about economic empowerment and removing the invisible borders that can limit African talent and businesses.”

He added that surpassing 50,000 users and recording millions of dollars in monthly transaction volume reflects growing demand for accessible cross-border financial infrastructure.

Taja said it remains focused on providing African creators, freelancers and business owners with financial tools that enable them to participate more effectively in the global economy.

The fintech offers a range of services, including multi-currency wallets and accounts, international collections, cross-border payouts, real-time currency conversion, virtual cards and digital-asset settlement capabilities.

These services are designed to support different international payment needs, from freelancers receiving payments from overseas clients to merchants paying international suppliers and businesses managing transactions across multiple currencies.

According to the company, bringing these capabilities together on a single platform is intended to simplify cross-border financial activities that may otherwise require users to navigate fragmented payment systems and multiple financial service providers.

Cross-border transactions can involve currency conversion challenges, different payment networks and international settlement processes. These complexities can create additional hurdles for African businesses and professionals operating beyond their domestic markets.

Taja’s platform seeks to address these challenges by connecting local financial needs with international payment infrastructure.

Taja’s growth comes as African businesses, digital creators and independent professionals increasingly seek access to international customers, clients and suppliers.

For freelancers and creators, receiving payments from overseas markets is an important part of earning income globally. Businesses also need reliable ways to collect international payments, settle obligations and manage funds across different currencies.

The company said it intends to continue expanding its payment infrastructure across Africa and international markets while supporting individuals and businesses engaged in global commerce.

Taja has described its broader ambition as building a financial passport for the continent, with the goal of making international financial services more accessible to African users.

The company’s latest milestone highlights its growth since 2024, although it did not disclose a detailed breakdown of its monthly transaction volumes or user distribution across individual markets in the announcement.
