Pastor Kumuyi at 85: Discipline, Distinctives, and Disquisit

    By Prima NewsJune 6, 2026

Vladimir Kuts was Russia’s unforgettable long-distance runner who, in a wildly combative career that lasted only three years in the 1950s, trashed the records for both the 5,000 and 10,000 metres in one single competition. By Prima NewsJune 6, 2026

Global oil prices declined on Friday after Omani authorities confirmed that crude export activities at the country’s key Mina al Fahal terminal were continuing without disruption. Brent crude oil, against which Nigerian crude oil is priced, fell by 84 cents to $94.19 per barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude dropped $1.13 to $91.91 per barrel as traders reacted to the clarification from Oman. The market had earlier been unsettled by reports of an explosion near mooring facilities at Mina al Fahal, one of Oman’s most important crude export terminals. Gabriel Afolayan: Prioritise Mastery Over Validation

    By Prima NewsJune 6, 2026

Popular actor and singer, Gabriel Afolayan, has said the growing recognition of Yoruba-language films is a natural outcome of consistency, hard work, and dedication within the industry. Reacting to the increasing visibility of Yoruba films, he said there was nothing unusual about the development, noting that sustained effort within the industry was finally yielding results. “There is nothing strange about it because we have put in the work. If one works hard, one should get the dividends for it. If we are seeing the feedback, it’s worth it. So there is nothing strange about it because we have put in…

UN urges world not to forget Rohingya refugees as aid cuts threaten vital support

    By Prima NewsJune 6, 2026

Speaking in Geneva on Tuesday, UNHCR spokesperson Babar Baloch warned that sharp reductions in humanitarian and development funding are putting essential services at risk for one of the world’s largest refugee populations. “The generous support from Bangladesh and the international community has been critical in meeting their basic needs and providing protection,” he told journalists. The largest influx of Rohingya refugees occurred in August 2017, when around 750,000 people fled violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine State and crossed into Bangladesh. UNHCR noted that support from Bangladesh and donors has been vital in meeting basic needs and providing protection ever since.Funding pressures mountThe…
