Tito Jackson, brother of the mercurial Michael Jackson, has died.

Tito, a member of the US pop group the Jackson 5, reportedly died on Sunday. Former manager of the Jackson 5, Steve Manning disclosed that he died while driving from New Mexico to Oklahoma.

Third of the nine children of the Jackson family and one of the members of the Jackson brothers, died at 70 in what is suspected to be a heart attack.

The death was also announced by the family in a statement. However, there is yet to be an official statement on the cause of death.

“It’s with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson is no longer with us,” his sons TJ, Taj and Taryll said in a statement posted on Instagram.

“We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being,” Tito, named Toriano Adaryll Jackson, simply known as “Tito”, was born on October 15, 1953, played guitar and also sang for the Jackson 5.

But he was the least-heard member of the group. Other members of the group are Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael.

He is survived by three sons Taj, 41, Taryll, 39, and TJ, 46 and nine grandchildren.
