The project, based on Lola Shoneyin’s acclaimed novel, is set to premiere as a Christmas global theatrical release in December 2026.

Abudu shared the announcement on her Instagram page on Monday, describing it as a continuation of the creative journey that has brought together a powerful ensemble of actors to bring the story to life.

The film will unite four major African film and media companies, EbonyLife Group, Genesis Group, Nile Media Entertainment Group, and Silverbird Group, marking a significant return to theatrical filmmaking for EbonyLife after a five-year focus on streaming content.

The additional casts added to the list are, Faithia Balogun Williams, Damilola Adegbite, Nancy Isime, Uzor Arukwe, Mike Ezuronye, Blessing Jessica Obasi, Nkechi Blessing Sunday, Maleek of Ikorodu Bois, and Mallu Marik
