Celebrity barman and socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, has reacted to the recent killings in Jos, Plateau State, suggesting that the attack may have been orchestrated to embarrass President Bola Tinubu on his birthday.

In a post shared on his Instagram story on Tuesday, the nightlife entrepreneur expressed concern over the rising wave of violence, lamenting the loss of lives and questioning the persistence of killings across the country.

“I have been cold. In the past few days the video of that woman and her child can’t get out of my head. When will these killings stop? How do people desire happiness in killing one another. When will this ever stop?” he wrote.

He also criticised the security situation in the state, referencing the response of the government to the attack.

“The governor in Jos pulled up in a Bunker. Does it mean everyone should now pull up in bunkers because he is scared more than the people? To lead a state you have to be fearless you have to have the ability to lay your life for the people. I feel for everyone in Jos,” he wrote.

Cubana Chief Priest further alleged that the timing of the attack was deliberate.

“This was clearly done to embarrass our president on his birthday,” he claimed.

He called on security agencies to step up efforts in addressing insecurity, warning that such incidents reflect poorly on leadership.

“Security agencies should brace up to their task allowing this kind of embarrassment on your principal is embarrassing. I pray God gives President Tinubu the energy to select people capable to lead with him,” he added.

PUNCH Online had earlier reported that Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, confirmed that 28 persons were killed in an attack by gunmen in the Angwan Rukuba community of Jos North Local Government Area.

In a state broadcast, the governor described the incident as “tragic” and “senseless,” assuring that those responsible would be brought to justice.

The incident has further heightened concerns over insecurity in parts of the country, with renewed calls for decisive action by security agencies.

President Tinubu had earlier indicated that he would mark his 74th birthday on Sunday with a low-key celebration in view of the current national challenges.
