    Senesi to Chelsea?

Chelsea are weighing up a surprise move for Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi this summer, as per Caught Offside.

The Blues are expected to land a new centre-back during the next transfer window, and may prefer someone with Premier League experience.

Senesi has now emerged as a top target for the club, given the Argentine can be signed on a free when his contract expires at the end of June.

However, a deal won’t be straightforward for the Blues with Liverpool also keen on convincing him to stay in the Premier League next term.

Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are also in contact with the 28-year-old and believe they can persuade him to move to the Spanish top-flight.

Senesi has yet to decide on his next challenge, but he is guaranteed to leave the Cherries and has no plans of extending his contract further.

Chelsea are planning multiple signings during the summer. The budget for those recruits could be higher with Champions League football.
