Nigeria has reached the women’s 4x100m final at the World Athletics U20 Championships after clocking a season-best 43.65 seconds in the semifinal.
The big moment came on the final leg, when Miracle Ezechukwu ran a stunning 9.81-second split to bring Nigeria back into the race and edge the United States by just 0.02 seconds.
Ezechukwu’s finish helped the Nigerian quartet of Lucy Nwankwo, Chigozie Rosemary Nwankwo, Tejiri Ugoh and Ezechukwu finish third and secure their place in the final.
Now, Nigeria have one more race to turn that impressive semifinal into a World U20 medal.
