Access Bank Plc has appointed Ifedayo Olaniyi Orimoloye as Executive Director, Risk Management, strengthening the lender’s leadership team as it deepens its focus on risk governance and sustainable growth.
Access Holdings Plc disclosed the appointment in a regulatory filing dated September 18, 2026, saying it takes effect from September 21 following approval by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Orimoloye joins Access Bank with more than 25 years of experience in financial services, spanning risk management, credit governance, regulatory compliance, capital management and institutional transformation.
Before joining Access Bank, he served as Group Chief Risk Officer at the African Development Bank (AfDB), where his responsibilities covered a portfolio valued at more than $40 billion.
During his tenure at the multilateral development institution, Orimoloye was involved in managing risks across the bank’s operations while supporting a financial framework that enabled AfDB to maintain its AAA credit ratings from Moody’s Investors Service, S&P Global Ratings and Fitch Ratings.
His experience at AfDB also included involvement in major capital and securitisation transactions, including financing initiatives designed to expand renewable energy access across Africa.
Orimoloye’s career cuts across several major financial institutions and markets.
He previously held senior risk-management positions at Sterling Bank Plc and Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, giving him experience within the Nigerian and broader African banking industries.
His international banking career also includes roles at Wells Fargo Bank, HSBC and Citigroup, where he worked across areas including portfolio management, risk transformation and governance.
The appointment comes as Access Bank continues to expand across multiple markets, increasing the importance of managing credit, regulatory, capital and operational risks across a larger financial institution.
Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Group Chairman of Access Holdings Plc, said Orimoloye’s international experience would strengthen the bank’s risk-management architecture and support its strategy of converting scale into sustainable value.
The appointment also adds extensive multilateral and international banking experience to Access Bank’s executive leadership at a time when Nigerian banks are navigating higher regulatory requirements, changing interest-rate conditions and an evolving operating environment.
Orimoloye holds bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Finance as well as a Master of Business Administration in Finance from California State University, Hayward.
Access Holdings said the appointment was completed in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and Access Bank’s corporate governance framework.
