Guinness World Records has confirmed that a concert featuring Saheed Osupa, Rybeena, KS 1 Malaika, T.I Blaze, and 81 other musicians set the record for the largest orchestra performing Afrobeats.

The milestone was achieved during Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience on 16 December 2025 at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Lagos. Guinness verified that 85 musicians performed together under a conductor, accompanied by a lead singer, choir, dancers, and synchronised orchestral arrangements.

Announcing the milestone in a post on its Instagram handle on Monday, the organisers said the event had been officially reviewed and verified by Guinness World Records.

“Glad to announce that Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience has been officially reviewed, verified, and confirmed by Guinness World Records for the Largest Orchestra for an Afrobeats Concert.

“With unforgettable performances from T.I Blaze, Rybeena, Bhadboi OML, Kashcoming, TML Vibez, Lasmid, Heis Cazulee, Dwillsharmony and Fuji legends KS1 Malaika and King Saheed Osupa; the night became a powerful fusion of Afrobeats, Fuji, and orchestral brilliance.

“We didn’t just stage a concert. We rewrote the record books. Culture. Precision. History,” the statement read.

According to details published on the Guinness World Records website, the record was achieved by Dapper Music and its artistes with 85 musicians performing together during the concert on December 16, 2025.

The organisation stated that the performance took place at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos and involved a coordinated orchestral presentation built around an Afrobeats composition.

“The largest orchestra for an Afrobeats concert is 85 and was achieved by Dapper Live & Artists (Nigeria) in Lagos, Nigeria, on 16 December 2025,” the record body stated.

It explained that the attempt featured a conductor leading the orchestra, alongside a lead singer, an accompanying choir, dancers and dozens of musicians performing in synchronisation.

The concert, according to the organisers, showcased how Afrobeats could blend with orchestral arrangements to create a large-scale musical performance that united both musicians and audiences.

The event also featured performances from several emerging and established artistes, highlighting the diversity of Nigeria’s contemporary music scene while integrating elements of Fuji and Afrobeats.

Dapper Live & Artists is linked to Nigerian music executive Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper, who is also known for his relationship with celebrity chef and three-times GWR holder, Hilda Baci.
