The wife of the Anambra State governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has paid a visit to the hospital where a 13-year-old girl is currently receiving treatment for Advanced HIV disease, donated relief materials, other essential supplies and offered financial support to the patient.

Soludo, who is the founder of the Non-Governmental Organisation, ‘Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo’, said the exercise is part of her commitment to supporting the most vulnerable in the communities.

The Anambra first lady said the relief materials and essential supplies donated to the patient would aid her nutrition and daily upkeep, along with financial support to help her recovery journey.

During the visit carried out on Friday by a team of the NGO, the governor’s wife called for improved welfare, love and kindness to the less privileged and the needy across the country as a way of giving them a sense of belonging and assurance that they are part of the society.

In a press statement she released on Saturday, she called on citizens to come together to build healthier, stronger communities, stressing that the less-privileged and the needy across the country, especially those in various hospitals, need and expect love, care, compassion and pampering.

She pointed out that no child should face a difficult health battle without support, adding that the NGO remains dedicated to showing up for those who need it most.

She said, “Today, a team from my NGO, ‘Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo’ paid a heartfelt visit to a 13-year-old girl currently receiving treatment for Advanced HIV Disease at a hospital in Awka.

“As part of our commitment to supporting the most vulnerable in our communities, we also donated essential supplies to aid her nutrition and daily upkeep, along with financial support to help her recovery journey.

“No child should face such a difficult health battle without support. We remain dedicated to showing up for those who need us most.

“Special thanks to the Anambra State AIDS Control Agency for drawing our attention to the case. Together, we can build healthier, stronger communities.”
