Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking to Russian President Vladimir Putin, said Ankara does not approve of attacks on Iran and also does not endorse Iran’s retaliatory actions against regional countries.

On the US-Israeli war on Iran, Erdogan added that peace- and stability-focused contacts with all parties continue to prevent the conflict from spiraling further.
During the call, Erdogan further warned that attacks on civilian ships in the Black Sea undermine regional stability, stressing that the Iran conflict should not create a new flashpoint in the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
Erdogan also said he is closely monitoring the latest developments in Syria, stressing that every step to strengthen stability there serves the shared interests of Türkiye and Russia, and that it is crucial not to jeopardize the gains achieved.
He also highlighted that the aggressive policies of the Israeli government under Prime Minister Netanyahu must be turned back and underscored that steps undermining the status of Jerusalem cannot be allowed.
