APC Bauchi chapter welcomes over 150,000 new members

The Bauchi State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) warmly welcomes the more than 150,000 people who have joined the Party in the latest wave of political realignment across the State.

At a major gathering of party leaders and supporters, lists containing approximately 117,000 new members were formally presented by the APC deputy governorship candidate, Hon Farouk Mustapha; Hon Shittu Zaki, a former Political Adviser to Governor Bala Mohammed; and Hassana Arkila.

With additional registrations and defections being recorded across the State, the APC State Chairman, Mohammed Hassan, confirmed that the total number of new entrants has exceeded 150,000 and has continued to rise.

Among those joining the APC are Hon Hamza, a former Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), together with about 20 former Local Government Area chairmen. A former member of the House ofRepresentatives has also joined the party with supporters previously associated with the African Democratic Congress (ADC). They were joined by former office holders, political organisers, community leaders, women, young people and grassroots supporters from across Bauchi State.

The scale and spread of this movement show that the APC is gaining strength beyond individual personalities and established political blocs. People from different backgrounds and former political affiliations are choosing to work together within the APC as Bauchi prepares for the next electoral cycle.

The party commended Farouk Mustapha, Shittu Zaki, Hassana Arkila and other leaders whose sustained engagement at the community level has made this expansion possible. It also acknowledged the continuing mobilisation by Zainab Babban Takko and other stakeholders whose supporters across the State have declared their commitment to the APC.

Many of the new members cited the performance of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the growing impact of Federal Government interventions in Bauchi State as important reasons for their decision.

The party is particularly encouraged by the recognition being accorded to the service of the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate. His leadership of the Federal Government’s health sector reforms and the interventions reaching communities in Bauchi State and across Nigeria have strengthened confidence in the APC and demonstrated what purposeful representation can deliver.

This membership surge is significant, but the party recognises that political strength is not measured by numbers alone. The new registrations must be fully documented, integrated into ward and local government structures and translated into sustained participation in the affairs of the Party.

The collation and verification of membership records will therefore continue as further returns are received from across the State. The APC welcomes every new member as an equal stakeholder and urged existing members to receive them in a spirit of unity and shared purpose, and we call on the new entrants to contribute actively to building a disciplined, inclusive and formidable Party.

The Bauchi State APC said it remains open to all citizens who believe in accountable leadership, national renewal and a better future for the people of our State. The movement now gathering across Bauchi is only beginning.
