The mother of the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Ajibola Basiru, Alhaja Sidikat Basiru, has died.

Her death was announced in a statement signed and released by the Osun State APC Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, and obtained on Sunday in Osogbo.

The Osun APC expressed heartfelt condolences to Senator Basiru and his family over the passing of their beloved mother.

The party described her death as a painful loss not only to the family but also to all who knew and benefited from her exemplary life.

In the statement signed by Olabisi, the APC said: “The passing of the late Alhaja Basiru was in accordance with the will of Almighty Allah, who gives life and takes it at His appointed time.”

The party urged the bereaved family to submit to the will of Allah with faith and total acceptance.

The APC also noted that although death remains inevitable for every soul, “The departure of a caring mother and a respected matriarch always leaves an irreplaceable vacuum.”

Describing the late Alhaja Basiru as a virtuous woman whose life was marked by humility, Olabisi further noted her kindness, discipline and unwavering devotion to the service of Allah and humanity.

“The Osun APC identifies with Senator Basiru at this difficult moment, acknowledging the immense grief associated with losing a beloved mother.

“We pray that Almighty Allah grants him, his siblings, and the entire family the strength, patience and fortitude to bear the painful and irreparable loss,” the statement read.

It further stated, “The greatest tribute to the late matriarch is the outstanding legacy of good character, moral upbringing and service to humanity that she instilled in her children, particularly Senator Basiru, whose dedication to public service continues to inspire many within and outside the APC.

“While extending its deepest sympathies to the entire Basiru family, relatives, friends and associates, the Osun APC prayed that Allah, in His infinite mercy, forgives the shortcomings of the deceased, accepts her return, enlarges her grave, illuminates it with His light, and admits her into the highest rank of Al-Jannatul Firdaus.”

The Osun State APC reaffirmed its solidarity with the senator and his family during this period of mourning and prayed that Almighty Allah grants them comfort, peace and the courage to overcome this difficult moment.

The party also prayed that the cherished memories and enduring legacy of the late Alhaja Basiru would continue to be a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her.
