APC has swept five of six chairmanship seats in FCT Area Council Elections.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured victory in five out of the six chairmanship positions contested in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) area council elections.

    Bwari and AMAC Results

In Bwari Area Council, APC candidate Joshua Ishaku emerged winner with 18,466 votes, clinching the chairmanship seat.

Similarly, the party’s candidate, Chris Garki, won the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) chairmanship position, strengthening the APC’s grip on key councils within the nation’s capital.

    PDP Wins Gwagwalada

The only exception was Gwagwalada Area Council, where Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Kasim Mohammed secured victory for the opposition.

    Other APC Victories

    APC candidates also triumphed in:

    • Kuje Area Council — Samuel Danjuma Shekwolo

    • Kwali Area Council — Nuhu Daniel Kwali

    • Abaji Area Council — Abdullahi Umar Abubakar

The outcome reinforces the APC’s dominance in the FCT, with the party retaining control of the majority of the area councils, while the PDP managed to capture only Gwagwalada.

The elections mark another significant political development in the capital territory as parties position themselves ahead of future contests.
