Apple TV is coming to Nigeria for the first time, with access bundled into an expanded iCloud+ subscription starting at ₦1,300 a month. The service will launch in Nigeria before the end of September 2026.
The new iCloud+ plan goes beyond cloud storage, bundling Apple TV, Apple Arcade, Apple Music Select, and cloud storage into one subscription. Subscribers can also share the plan with up to five family members at no extra cost.
Apple announced the Nigerian rollout on September 15 as part of a bigger expansion covering more than 100 countries. The move adds 59 new markets for Apple TV, bringing the service’s global reach to 170 countries.
Here, Apple TV refers to Apple’s video streaming service, previously called Apple TV+. It is separate from Apple TV 4K, the physical streaming box Apple sells.
When does Apple TV launch in Nigeria
Apple says the bundle will reach Nigeria before the end of September 2026, but it has not shared an exact date yet.
The rollout will likely happen in stages, so you might see the new benefits before some other users do. To check your own status, open Settings, tap your name, select Subscriptions, and open iCloud+. Apple TV and Apple Arcade will show up there once your account gets access.
Nigerians are getting official access to Apple TV seven years after it first launched worldwide on November 1, 2019. The Apple TV app was already available locally, but the streaming subscription and its catalogue were not.

You get Apple TV through an iCloud+ plan instead of a separate streaming subscription. Prices start at ₦1,300 a month for the 50GB plan.

At ₦1,300 a month, Apple’s entry plan costs less than Netflix’s cheapest Nigerian plan, which starts at ₦2,500. The comparison isn’t exact, since Netflix is a dedicated video service and Apple’s plan bundles a smaller show catalogue with cloud storage, games, and privacy tools.

You can watch through the Apple TV app on supported devices or through a browser at tv.apple.com. You do not need an Apple TV 4K box or any other Apple device to use it. The service works on:

Available shows and features can vary by device and country. The service also does not include third-party subscriptions or films offered for separate rental or purchase inside the Apple TV app.
Apple promotes live Formula 1, Major League Soccer, and Friday Night Baseball in some countries, but it has not confirmed which of these will show up in the Nigerian catalogue. Do not assume every US programme or sporting event will stream in Nigeria too.
Apple Arcade is part of the bundle too
Every paid Nigerian iCloud+ plan includes Apple Arcade, giving you unlimited access to more than 200 games. The games have no adverts or in-app purchases, and many work offline.

The bundle also includes Apple Music Select
Your iCloud+ subscription in Nigeria also comes with Apple Music Select, a set of ad-free stations programmed by Apple Music. The stations cover regional music, current popular songs, and throwbacks from the 1980s and 1990s. You will find them under the Home tab in the Apple Music app.
Apple Music Select is not the full Apple Music experience. It plays programmed stations and does not let you pick individual songs, albums, or playlists. For that, you still need a full Apple Music plan.
iCloud+ subscribers get cheaper Apple Music plans
Apple is offering discounted Apple Music plans to iCloud+ customers in Nigeria. An Individual plan costs ₦1,500 a month, and a Family plan costs ₦2,500 a month. You have to buy these directly from Apple.
Add the cheapest iCloud+ plan and your combined monthly cost looks like this:

The full Apple Music plan gives you on-demand listening, editorial playlists, Spatial Audio, Lyrics Translation, and AutoMix. If you get iCloud+ through Family Sharing, only the person who pays for the plan qualifies for the discounted Music price.
How Family Sharing works with this bundle
You can share your iCloud+ plan with up to five other people, so one subscription can serve up to six people including you. Every member joins with their own Apple Account, and nobody has to share a login or password.
Apple TV and Apple Arcade become available to everyone automatically once they join your Family Sharing group. Sharing iCloud storage requires one extra setup step.
Your files, photos, documents, and viewing history stay private. The person who pays for the plan cannot open another member’s personal content just because they share the same storage.
The storage allowance is shared, though. Six people on the 50GB plan will split that same 50GB, so families that back up a lot of photos and videos may want to move to a 200GB plan or higher.
If a member already pays for their own iCloud+ plan, they can keep it or move into the family plan instead. Apple refunds the unused part of a personal subscription when a member switches. If the group starts running low on storage, every member gets a notification, and the person paying can then upgrade to a bigger plan.
What happens to your current Apple TV or Arcade subscription
Apple TV and Apple Arcade will no longer be sold as standalone subscriptions in Nigeria once this bundle arrives. If you already pay for either one separately, Apple will move you into iCloud+ and cancel your old individual subscription, since the service is now part of your new bundle.
Apple says it will send affected subscribers a push notification and an email explaining the change, and the switch should not interrupt your access. Your Apple Arcade progress and saved data carry over too.
If you already pay for iCloud+, Apple TV and Apple Arcade are added automatically, with no extra fee. Current Apple One subscribers keep their existing plans, though Apple lets them switch to iCloud+ from their subscription settings if they want to.
How to subscribe to Apple TV through iCloud+ in Nigeria
The steps depend on your device and software version.
On an iPhone running iOS 27 or later
- Open Settings.
- Tap your name and select iCloud.
- Choose Manage Plan if you already have iCloud+.
- Select Storage, then Get More Storage if you use the free plan.
- Choose a paid iCloud+ plan.
- Follow the prompts to confirm your subscription.
On iPhones running iOS 18.4 to iOS 26, open Settings, tap your name, select Subscriptions, and open iCloud+ to see the available plans.
On a Mac
- Open the Apple menu.
- Select System Settings.
- Click your name and select iCloud.
- Choose Manage Plan or Upgrade to iCloud+.
- Select a plan and complete the payment.
You can also buy or upgrade iCloud+ through iCloud for Windows, though Apple’s support page only lists iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro as devices where you can directly check your bundle status.
Once you subscribe, open the Apple TV app and sign in with the Apple Account linked to your iCloud+ subscription, or visit tv.apple.com from a supported browser. You will need a valid payment method on your Apple Account, and the bundle may still show” Coming soon” until Apple finishes the Nigerian rollout.
Why Apple is bundling TV and Arcade with iCloud+
This bundle turns iCloud+ into more than a storage plan. It gives Apple a cheaper way to bring its entertainment services to countries where Apple TV and Apple Arcade previously had limited reach.
Apple can now offer these services to iPhone users who already pay to back up their photos and device data, and it can attract new customers who see ₦1,300 as a low price for streaming, gaming, and storage combined.
Family Sharing could push adoption even further. If six people split the 50GB plan, its effective cost drops to about ₦217 per person a month. That storage does not split evenly by size, though, and 50GB may not be enough for six active users.
Apple also has room to sell more. Families can move up to bigger storage tiers, and iCloud+ subscribers can add full Apple Music at a lower price. Dropping standalone Apple TV and Arcade subscriptions also gives Nigerians one entry point for storage, video, and games instead of three separate ones.
Apple has not said that these business reasons drove the change. They are simply potential advantages of the new bundle.
How Apple TV Nigeria compares with other streaming services
The starting price makes Apple TV one of the cheapest paid video options in Nigeria. Netflix currently charges between ₦2,500 and ₦8,500 a month, depending on the plan.
Apple’s offer adds cloud storage and more than 200 games on top of video, giving it a different value than a video-only subscription. Its main weakness may be the size and local relevance of its catalogue. Apple TV leans on Apple Originals, and Netflix carries a wider mix of licensed films, international shows, and Nigerian productions.
Showmax, once one of Nigeria’s biggest streaming competitors, shut down on April 30, 2026, with MultiChoice folding its streaming service into DStv Stream.
Apple has not announced any Nigerian films or series as part of this launch, and that gap in local content may matter in a market that leans heavily on Nollywood. Apple’s sports offering also remains unclear. It advertises Formula 1, Major League Soccer, and Friday Night Baseball in other countries, but it has not shared a Nigerian sports schedule.
