Arsenal have been handed a fresh injury boost with right-back Jurrien Timber likely to make the matchday squad against Chelsea on Sunday.
The Netherlands international has struggled with a nagging groin problem this year, which has contributed to his recent absence with the Gunners.
Timber has not featured for Arsenal in any form since the Champions League final, but he was spotted training individually earlier this week.
The Dutchman has since rejoined his teammates in regular training and manager Mikel Arteta has acknowledged that he has an outside chance of making the squad for the Premier League derby against Chelsea.
Timber will be assessed in tomorrow’s training session before a final decision is made. Meanwhile, Cristhian Mosquera and Bruno Guimaraes have recovered from minor knocks and should be fit for Sunday.
Arsenal go into the game against Chelsea with a dominating record, having won eight and drawn three of their previous 11 meetings. They will be hoping to extend the streak with another three points.
