Arsenal want new centre-back

Arsenal are focused on landing a new defender alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Vinicius Junior in the ongoing transfer window.

The Gunners have made just one new outfield signing in Christos Tzolis but more activity is expected before the new season starts.

The club are working hard to land Bruno and Vinicius, but could also enter the transfer market for a new defender in the near future.

With William Saliba‘s back injury, there is an urgent need for an experienced centre-back for the right-footed central defensive role.

There are no standout targets at the moment, but the Gunners are known to be interested in Aston Villa star Ezri Konsa for the last few weeks.

Konsa is open to securing a move to the Premier League champions, but he won’t come on the cheap with Villa set to demand £60 million.

The West Midlands outfit have no plans to provide a discount on the price and Arsenal may have to at least come within reach of the fee.
