Under fire, Kharkiv is already building for a peaceful tomorrow

    By Prima NewsJune 3, 2026

Yet amid the destruction, Ukraine’s second-largest city is doing something that may seem almost impossible during wartime: preparing for a better future.“We need to rebuild regardless of the war,” says Ihor Terekhov, the city’s mayor, “because if there is no reconstruction there will be only ruins, and those who left will not return.” Kharkiv City Council Igor Terekhov, Mayor of Kharkiv. Kharkiv, once a thriving centre of industry, science, education and culture near Ukraine’s northeastern border, has become one of the country’s most heavily damaged cities since Russia’s full-scale invasion began. According to Mr. Terekhov, around 13,000 buildings have been damaged…

    Can West Africa Defeat Terrorism?

    By Prima NewsJune 3, 2026

Maybe the terrorists that trouble Nigeria and the rest of West Africa can be contained if Nigeria leads the revival of the Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group, ECOMOG, that restored peace to Sierra Leone and Liberia between the 1980s and 1990s. It will be in Nigeria’s enlightened best interest to combine its anti-terrorism efforts with those of other West African countries, gain their support and make a bigger bang for every buck spent on containing the internal and external terrorists who will then have no place to hide. Recall that the frontline nations, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe…

New Manual Aims to Stabilise Nigeria’s Market

    By Prima NewsJune 3, 2026

For years, Nigeria’s foreign exchange market has been shaped as much by uncertainty as by supply and demand. Importers complained about delays and documentation bottlenecks. Exporters often questioned whether existing procedures encouraged them to repatriate earnings through official channels. Investors worried about policy reversals and access to foreign exchange. The banks found themselves navigating changing regulations, multiple directives, and periods of market stress. Against that backdrop, the launch of the fourth edition of the CBN’s Foreign Exchange Manual represents more than a regulatory update. It is the latest stage in a broader effort by monetary authorities to build a foreign…

Operation Safe Corridor: Between justice for victims and mercy for terrorists

    By Prima NewsJune 3, 2026

I believe that forgiving them is God’s function; our job is to arrange the meeting — Herbert Norman Schwarzkopf Jr., US Army General. By Ebele Orakpo When Mrs. Liyatu Simon Tawasu recalls the Boko Haram attack on her village of Gwallam in Borno State, the pain remains fresh more than a decade later. On October 1, 2014, insurgents stormed the community, killing scores of residents, including 15 members of her extended family. Her uncles were executed before their wives, while survivors returned days later to bury bodies abandoned in the open. “The pillars of my village are gone. I am a…

The Most Underrated Skill for Success

    By Prima NewsJune 2, 2026

Most times when people talk about leadership, they focus on skills like vision, charisma, innovation, confidence and strategic thinking. These skills are important. After all, it is almost impossible to find anybody who wants to follow a leader who lacks direction and conviction. However, another skill subtly supports all of them but is usually ignored. When it is missing, even the most brilliant leaders struggle to achieve their goals. That skill is clarity.
