A human rights lawyer, Maxwell Opara, has sued the Nigerian government and the army to stop the reintegration of repentant insurgents into the Nigerian society. He filed the suit on 23 April at the Federal High Court in Abuja. Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised 24 terrorists during a midnight attack after insurgents attempted to overrun a military location in Kukareta, Yobe State. The attack, which lasted about three hours in the early hours of Thursday, was repelled following a fierce exchange of fire.
