In a knowledge summary published on Tuesday, WHO, on its website, said tobacco use was associated with infertility in women, harmful effects on sperm and sexual function in men, and potentially lower chances of success with some fertility treatments. Apple Is Actually Talking About AI Now — a Lot

    By Prima NewsSeptember 9, 2026

It wasn’t that long ago that I wrote about how Apple’s reserved AI strategy is probably its best yet. By not hemorrhaging money on AI features and tools and by focusing on hardware rather than going all-in on AI, Apple positioned itself to come out ahead while its competitors beat and batter themselves to out-innovate each other in AI. Yeah, that’s out the window now. During its September “Surprise and shine” event on Wednesday at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, the company opened with a discussion of AI. Not merely “intelligence” or even “Apple Intelligence,” but artificial intelligence specifically. Clearly,…

    By Prima NewsSeptember 9, 2026

    By Prima NewsSeptember 9, 2026

The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, has condemned the disruption of the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi’s visit to Benue State, accusing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of desperation to silence the opposition. Mr Makinde, who is the governor of Oyo State, said the actions of the suspected political thugs who allegedly blocked Mr Obi’s convoy from gaining access to parts of the state showed that the APC was resorting to intimidation ahead of the 2027 general elections. He stated this in a statement issued by his Special Adviser…

AI datacentres pose growing threat to electricity systems worldwide

    By Prima NewsSeptember 9, 2026

Datacentre consumption is expected to almost double by 2030 – from 485 Terawatt-hours (TWh) in 2025 to 950 TWh by 2030, equivalent to three per cent of global demand, according to the intergovernmental International Energy Agency (IEA). Investment in datacentre infrastructure worldwide, on the other hand, is forecast to roughly double only by 2050 – from around $800 billion per year in 2026 to $1.8 trillion per year in 2050. The Geneva-based commission (UNECE) warns that in many regions, datacentres and other energy-intensive facilities are being built much faster than the power grids needed to supply them. A large facility can often be built…

Can Rivian Self Driving Edge Past Tesla and Waymo?

    By Prima NewsSeptember 9, 2026

I’m sitting in a Rivian R1S SUV as it drives itself down the leafy streets of Palo Alto, Calif., through areas crowded with touchstones of tech history. We cruise near the landmark HP Garage, the one-car workshop where Hewlett-Packard, and, arguably, Silicon Valley, was founded in 1939. I skirt Stanford University, where a team led by computer science professor Sebastian Thrun won a US $2 million DARPA Grand Challenge in 2005. The team’s Volkswagen SUV, named Stanley, became the world’s first vehicle to navigate a grueling 212-kilometer Mojave Desert course with no human intervention. This Rivian might look like any other…
