The Central Bank of Nigeria withdrew an estimated N6.62 trillion in net liquidity from the financial system in September after fresh Open Market Operations sales substantially exceeded the value of securities that matured during the month. Oil prices struggled for direction on Monday as recovering crude exports from the Middle East and plans by the Group of Seven nations to release 100 million barrels from emergency reserves eased some of the supply pressure that has kept the market elevated.
