Chelsea Football Club has announced that midfielder Moises Caicedo has signed a new long-term contract with the club until 2033.

The Ecuador international joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in August 2023 and has since established himself as one of the most important players in the squad.

Caicedo has made 140 appearances for the Blues and played a key role in Chelsea’s triumphs in the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Speaking after signing the new deal, the 24-year-old expressed his happiness and commitment to the club: “I am so happy to have extended my contract at Chelsea. I believe in this team, this club and I know we’re going in the right direction. We’ve only just begun together.

“There is still a lot more to achieve, and I’m very hungry to keep improving every day. I want to win more trophies with Chelsea and give everything for this club and for the fans.

“We have enjoyed some great times together already and my dream is to become a Chelsea legend, and I will work as hard as possible to make that happen.”

During his time at Stamford Bridge, Caicedo has scored eight goals, one of which was voted Chelsea’s 2024 Goal of the Season. Last season, he was named both the Supporters’ Player of the Season and the Players’ Player of the Season.

This term, he has captained the side on several occasions, most recently in the match against Manchester City.

Chelsea described the contract extension as a significant milestone and expressed delight at securing the future of one of their key midfielders for the long term.

The club looks forward to the next chapter in Caicedo’s Chelsea career as they continue to build for future success.
