Chelsea have reached a verbal agreement with Monaco to land the signature of midfielder Lamine Camara before the transfer window closes at 11pm tonight.
The Blues recently sanctioned the departure of midfielder Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City. The Argentine is expected to join the Cityzens for a British record fee of £125m tonight.
His departure has increased the need for a replacement. Monaco initially rejected a £38m proposal for Camara, but the French outfit have now accepted an increased offer of £47m.
The player has been permitted to travel to London for his medical, with time running out before the deadline. It is anticipated that the necessary formalities will be completed by 11pm.
A two-hour extension can be requested once the dealsheet is submitted. Hence, Chelsea are not overly concerned about the situation and are confident they will land the Senegalese star.
The 22-year-old could make his Premier League debut against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
