Chelsea have told Jamie Gittens that he must stay at Stamford Bridge, despite reports linking the English winger with a move away from the club.

According to the Standard, the west London side have made their stance clear amid suggestions that Gittens could return to Borussia Dortmund or join Italian outfit Roma. The message from Chelsea is understood to be firm: the player is expected to remain with the club rather than pursue an exit.

Gittens has been described as wantaway amid the speculation, but Chelsea’s position leaves little room for encouragement to interested clubs at this stage. Dortmund have been mentioned in connection with a possible return, while Roma have also been credited with interest, but the latest report indicates that Chelsea are not prepared to sanction a departure.

The situation places the focus on whether the winger accepts the club’s decision or whether the links to Germany and Italy continue. For now, Chelsea appear determined to keep him at Stamford Bridge and avoid losing an attacking option while the market remains active.

There is no indication from the report that Chelsea have invited offers, agreed terms with another club, or softened their stance. Instead, the message is that Gittens has been told to stay, with the club prioritising retention over a transfer.

Unless that position changes, any move to Borussia Dortmund or Roma would appear difficult. Chelsea’s demand gives the player clarity over their intentions, even if outside interest continues to be reported. The coming days could determine whether the speculation fades or develops further, but as of now the club’s line is that Gittens remains part of their plans at Stamford Bridge.
