    Delap to Newcastle?

Chelsea are prepared to part ways with striker Liam Delap amid interest from Newcastle United, according to talkSPORT.

The west London giants won the race to sign the Englishman from Ipswich Town last summer, but the move has not worked out.

Delap struggled with injuries during the early phase of his career and has since played second fiddle to Joao Pedro upfront.

The 23-year-old has netted just two goals from 31 appearances and it is claimed that he could be offloaded in the summer.

Delap is valued at around £40 million by the Blues and he is apparently attracting interest from rivals Newcastle United.

The Magpies signed Nick Woltemade to bolster their strikeforce after multiple snubs at the beginning of the campaign.

Woltemade was a key player for the Magpies, but he has been largely out of favour in recent months and could be sold this year.

Delap has barely made an impact with the Blues, but the Magpies seem convinced about his potential to succeed in the league.
