Former Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has joined Getafe as a free agent, signing with the La Liga side for the remainder of the season.
The 34-year-old right-back returns to the Madrid area, where he spent the majority of his career with Real Madrid, establishing himself as one of the club’s most successful and experienced defenders.
Carvajal brings a wealth of experience to Getafe, having competed at the highest level of European football throughout his career. His defensive qualities, leadership and understanding of Spanish football could prove valuable as Getafe look to strengthen their squad for the rest of the campaign.
His move also gives the veteran defender an opportunity to continue competing in La Liga, close to the city where he enjoyed some of the biggest moments of his professional career.
For Getafe, securing a player with Carvajal’s experience on a free transfer represents an opportunity to add proven quality and leadership without paying a transfer fee.
The deal will now see Carvajal begin a new chapter in Spanish football, trading his long-standing connection with Real Madrid for a fresh challenge with Getafe.
