British-Nigerian rapper and actor Dave (David Orobosa Michael Omoregie) and Nigerian singer Tems (Temilade Openiyi) have been featured in Spotify’s 2026 “Songs of Summer” predictions released on May 29.
The list, published by Spotify and sighted by our correspondent on Sunday, was compiled by the platform’s global editorial team and highlights songs selected as potential summer hits based on trends identified across global music streaming.
Spotify said its editors closely track the musical landscape and select tracks they believe could shape seasonal listening across genres and countries.
“It’s a song that makes you feel good, that you can listen to outside in the sunshine with your friends, and that has the ability to travel across genres, people, and countries,” said Talia Kraines, Editorial Lead, Pop at Spotify.
Dave and Tems were listed with their collaboration “Raindance (feat. Tems)”.
The song was released in October 2025 as the fifth track on Dave’s third studio album, The Boy Who Played the Harp.
It was produced by Jo Caleb, Kyle Evans, Jim Legxacy and the artists, blending Tems’ soulful vocals with Dave’s introspective rap style.
The track also achieved commercial success, reaching No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart and marking Tems’ first chart-topping entry in the United Kingdom, while recording more than 500 million streams globally.
Spotify said the 2026 list includes global acts across pop, rap, Afrobeats and electronic music genres. It also introduced in-app voting, allowing users to predict the season’s biggest hit.
