    Fire guts part of MMIA Terminal 1 in Lagos

    LAGOS — Fire has gutted part of Terminal 1 at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, destroying some items in the process.

    The cause of the fire, which occurred on Thursday afternoon, is yet to be determined.

    Teams from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Fire Service are currently battling to bring the blaze under control.

    Margaret Adeseye, Controller-General of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed that no lives were lost in the incident.
