Fusepay launches AI operating system for African trade businesses

Fusepay, a Seychelles-headquartered fintech, has launched an AI-native operating system designed to help wholesalers, distributors, and manufacturers manage their daily operations, as the company expands beyond payments into enterprise software.

According to the company, Fuse360 combines inventory management, order processing, invoicing, customer credit, collections, and retailer relationships into a single platform. Payments are processed through FusePay, the company’s existing payments product, allowing businesses to manage operations and financial transactions within the same ecosystem.

The launch comes eight months after Fusepay launched its digital payments platform in Seychelles, and raised $350,000 in pre-seed funding in August 2025. It also coincides with Seychelles’ push to strengthen its position as one of Africa’s early leaders in artificial intelligence adoption, having ranked among the continent’s top three countries in Oxford Insights’ 2020 Government AI Readiness Index.

“We didn’t build Fuse360 because the world needed another ERP. We built it because we saw businesses spending more time managing disconnected systems than growing their business,” said Vidhyasahar Thiyagarajan, cofounder and chief executive of Fusepay. “AI gives us the opportunity to rethink how trade businesses should operate from the ground up.”

Founded by Thiyagarajan and Francesco Rocchi, Fusepay is building what it described as an AI-native and financial operating system for trade businesses across the Indian Ocean and Africa. Its product suite now includes FusePay for payments and supplier settlements, and Fuse360 for business operations.

The company said Fuse360 was designed to work alongside FusePay; both platforms operate within the same ecosystem, and invoices, payments, collections, customer balances, and supplier records remain synchronised automatically.

Fuse360 introduces AI agents designed to assist both front-office and back-office teams. According to Fusepay, the AI agents automate repetitive tasks such as payment reconciliation, collections, reporting, customer credit monitoring, and operational analysis.

Because the AI operates within the platform itself, it has access to invoices, inventory movements, payment histories, and supplier relationships, allowing it to generate recommendations and automate workflows without requiring employees to move data between multiple applications.

Fusepay noted that Fuse360 includes a retailer portal where businesses can place orders, access invoices, download statements, review outstanding balances, and communicate directly with their suppliers. The platform supports Know Your Business (KYB) and Know Your Customer (KYC) onboarding and includes AI-powered credit intelligence that analyses payment behaviour, outstanding exposure, and historical payment patterns, Fusepay added.

Fusepay is targeting Africa’s trade sector. Africa has an estimated 244 million businesses, with merchandise trade reaching $1.5 trillion in 2024. As intra-African trade continues to grow and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) deepens cross-border commercial activity, the adoption of digital tools that combine operations and payments could increase.

Fuse360 enters a market dominated by global enterprise resource planning providers such as Odoo and SAP Business One, alongside African software companies including Bumpa and Sabi that serve merchants and distributors. Fusepay says its advantage lies in building specifically for trade businesses rather than offering a general-purpose ERP platform.

The company said the idea for Fuse360 emerged after it found businesses relying on a patchwork of inventory software, spreadsheets, messaging apps, banking platforms and paper records to manage daily operations.

“We realised that improving payments alone would never solve the operational complexity trade businesses face every day,” the company said in its launch briefing.

Fuse360 launched in Seychelles in July and is scheduled to expand to Mauritius in September before entering selected East and Southern African markets later this year. Fusepay said its long-term ambition is to connect wholesalers, distributors, manufacturers and their networks of retailers and hospitality businesses through a single AI-native operating platform.

True scale demands moving beyond surface-level integrations to robust execution.
