Gombe United have sacked their newly appointed Technical Adviser, Eddy Lord Dombraye, less than 48 hours after announcing his appointment, SportsRation reports.
The Nigeria National League (NNL) club announced Dombraye’s appointment on Thursday, August 27, as part of changes to its technical crew ahead of the 2026/27 season.

However, in a statement issued on Friday, August 28, the club announced that it had dissolved the recently formed technical crew following consultations with stakeholders and a review of its technical direction.
The club thanked Dombraye for his interest in working with the team and said it hoped to work with him in the future.
“On this note, we wish to announce Muniru Abdulazeez (Coach Sabo) as our Technical Adviser, and he will take charge of the club’s technical activities with immediate effect,” the club stated.
Haruna Abdullahi, popularly known as Alanpasiey, has also been appointed Chief Coach.
The latest decision means Dombraye’s time at Gombe United has ended before he could take charge of the team.
The club said the changes were necessary to build “a stronger, more united team” for the new season.
Gombe United will compete in the NNL during the 2026/27 season, with promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) expected to remain their major target.
