Świątek had to work harder in the opening set, with Li putting up a fight before the world-class Polish player pulled ahead to claim it 6-4. However, the second set was a more one-sided affair as Świątek raised her level and took control of the match, winning 6-1 to complete the victory in straight sets.
The result highlighted Świątek’s ability to adjust during a match and turn a competitive contest into a convincing performance. Her aggressive baseline game, consistency, and ability to apply pressure proved decisive as she moved one step closer to the Wuhan title.
Reaching her 25th WTA 1000 semifinal is another significant milestone for Świątek, whose record at the sport’s premier tournaments outside the Grand Slams continues to demonstrate her status among the leading players in women’s tennis.
With a place in the final now within reach, Świątek will look to maintain her momentum in the next round as she pursues another major title on the WTA To3ur.
