    …Bags Four-Star Rating

    By Ibrahim Hassan-Wuyo

Kaduna — Kaduna State has emerged as one of Nigeria’s top-performing states, securing third position nationwide in the 2025 Phillips Consulting State Performance Index (pSPI) and earning an Excellent Four-Star Rating.

The Kaduna State Government described the ranking as an independent validation of the reform agenda and people-centred policies being implemented under Governor Uba Sani’s administration.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, the government said the assessment reflects notable progress across key sectors, including governance, fiscal management, economic development, infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, security, and social inclusion.

Maiyaki noted that the index is particularly significant because it combines objective performance indicators with citizen feedback, making it a credible measure of governance outcomes.

He said the ranking confirms Kaduna State’s steady progress in strengthening institutions, improving service delivery, and expanding economic opportunities for residents.

The commissioner added that the latest recognition adds to a growing list of accolades earned by the state in recent months.

He recalled that Kaduna had earlier been ranked first in Nigeria on the 2025 Transparency and Integrity Index published by the Centre for Fiscal Transparency and Public Integrity, and also recorded the country’s highest score on the Control of Corruption Indicator.

“These rankings are encouraging because they demonstrate that our efforts are yielding measurable results. However, our focus remains on improving the lives of our people through inclusive development, economic empowerment, quality service delivery, and sustainable peace,” the statement read.

Maiyaki reaffirmed the commitment of the Uba Sani administration to building a peaceful, prosperous, transparent, and globally competitive Kaduna State through sustained reforms and effective governance.

The government also expressed appreciation to citizens, development partners, traditional and religious leaders, civil society organisations, and other stakeholders for their continued support toward the state’s development agenda.
