Liverpool are unlikely to sign Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise at any price this summer.

The Reds are determined to land a marquee wide player during the next transfer window, given that Mohamed Salah is set to depart on a free transfer.

Olise has been earmarked as the prime target by the Merseyside giants, but former Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said that he won’t be sold at any price.

The former Bayern chief highlighted that the club have an unwritten rule and would not entertain the sale of any player that could affect them in sporting terms in the future. He named Olise in the same category.

He said: “In 2009, we agreed that we would not sell any player whom we would miss from a sporting perspective. And that unwritten rule still applies today. For a player like Olise, there is no price tag that would make us flinch.”

Liverpool have no chance of signing him, as per those comments. They will have to look elsewhere for a proper successor to Salah this summer.

The Reds have recently been linked with a surprise swoop for West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen. He could depart if the Hammers are relegated from the Premier League.
