    Kerkez doubtful

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed a big injury blow ahead of the Premier League derby against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Merseyside giants are currently fourth in the table with 58 points, three behind United, who beat them at Anfield earlier in the campaign.

The Red Devils will be aiming to avenge that result. Ahead of the game, Slot has confirmed that left-back Milos Kerkez could be a big doubt.

He said: “Milos [Kerkez] has had some niggles and left the training pitch on Wednesday. I expect him to train today or tomorrow.”

If Kerkez is deemed unfit to play, Andy Robertson looks poised to start at left-back. This would represent a boost for the Red Devils.

Robertson is no longer in the prime of his career, and Bryan Mbeumo could have a field day from the right side of United’s attack.

Mbeumo has struggled to make regular goal contributions recently, but he scored an early goal during the win at Anfield last year.
