Atletico Madrid produced a stunning performance to beat FC Barcelona 4-0 in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg, with Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman scoring one goal and providing an assist.

The hosts took the lead in the seventh minute after Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia made a costly mistake that resulted in an own goal. Atletico doubled their advantage in the 14th minute when Antoine Griezmann found the back of the net.

In the 33rd minute, Julian Alvarez set up Lookman, who finished calmly to make it 3-0. The Nigerian forward then turned provider in first-half stoppage time, assisting Alvarez to score Atletico’s fourth goal of the night.

Lookman was one of the standout players in the match, causing constant problems for Barcelona’s defence with his pace and movement.

The big win puts Atletico Madrid in a strong position ahead of the second leg, while Barcelona now face a difficult task to keep their Copa del Rey hopes alive.
