Manchester United are likely to part ways with defender Lisandro Martinez at the end of the campaign, according to The Daily Mail.
The Argentine recently criticised sporting director Jason Wilcox for the lack of proper spending and said that better players are required.
Martinez avoided suspension for the same, but his future at the Mancunian giants remains uncertain beyond the current campaign.
Martinez’s current contract expires in June next year, but United have the option to extend his stay for another 12 months, as per The Daily Mail.
The Mancunian giants are pretty much certain to trigger the extension clause, and they could then proceed to sanction his sale next summer.
The World Cup winner has no offers at the moment, but it has been claimed that Atletico are long-term admirers, right from his time at Ajax.
They could emerge as the front-runners to land the experienced ace. United will seek to recoup at least part of the £57m spent on his services.
