Manchester United are ready to make a big summer move for Aston Villa midfielder Amadou Onana, according to Football Insider.
The Red Devils are poised to strengthen their midfield department this summer with Casemiro expected to head for the exit door.
Casemiro has been one of United’s best players during the ongoing season, but he will walk away when his contract expires on June 30.
The club could prefer a replacement with Premier League experience and reports claim that they have revived their interest in Onana.
Onana was a top target for the Red Devils during his time at Everton, but he chose to join Villa instead for £50 million a couple of years ago.
The Belgian has already opened the possibility of joining a world-class club and United could be prepared to test Villa’s resolve this summer.
Onana would be a fine acquisition for United, given he is strong in duels, tackles and can also link-up play with his quality distribution.
