Sodiq Ibrahim and Qamar Adegoke were on target as Shooting Stars defeated Rivers United 2-1 in a rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, matchday 28 tie at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasinga, Ibadan on Thursday night.

Ibrahim scored the game’s curtain raiser in the 24th minute following a superb assist from Ayobami Abiodun.

Rivers United fought back, and got the equaliser through Wasiu Falolu 21 minutes from time.

Adegoke broke the heart of the visitors, firing home the winning goal in stoppage time.

Shooting Stars moved to sixth position on the table following the win, while Rivers United stayed at the top of the log.

Shooting Stars will host Wikki Tourists in a matchday 30 fixture this weekend.

Rivers United will be away to Ikorodu City on Sunday.
