    NUC approves 7 new programmes for Achievers University

    The National Universities Commission has approved seven academic programmes for Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State.

    This was contained in a statement issued by the Head of Media and Publicity of the university, Olaniyi Adekanye, on Wednesday.

    According to the statement, the accredited courses are medical laboratory science, civil and environmental engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, microbiology, criminology and security studies, and sociology.

    The statement read, “In a formal correspondence to the university dated April 7, 2026, and signed by the Commission’s Director of Accreditation, the NUC confirms that all the programmes presented by the university met its rigorous quality assurance standards, covering curriculum content, staffing, infrastructure, library resources, and academic delivery. Full accreditation is the highest status granted by the Commission and is valid for a period of five years.

    “Announcing the good report to the university community, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oyesoji Aremu, described the achievement as a major boost to the institution’s academic profile and a validation of its commitment to excellence through rich and sustained investment in faculty development, modern laboratory facilities, and continuous curriculum review in alignment with global best practices to facilitate the quality higher education delivery of the university.”

    Aremu expressed delight over the development and described the information as cheering and a good one to start the week.

    He congratulated the Governing Council led by the Pro-Chancellor, Professor Bode Ayorinde, other principal officers of the university and the entire university community, and further affirmed that the institution would not rest on its oars.

    He urged members of the university community to remain committed to upholding and continually advancing the high standards of excellence for which the institution is renowned.
