As the All Progressives Congress held its congresses across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State on Saturday, party stakeholders commended the conduct of the exercise.

The state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr Seun Osamaye, said in Ifedore Local Government that the process was hitch-free.

She said, “I want to say so far it has been free, fair and just across the board. We have had reports of our people coming out peacefully to show their support for the elected officers in each local government.

“My own local government, for instance, came out early this morning and it was by consensus. There will be no litigation, no petitions at all. I have that assurance. The majority have decided to support the consensus.”

Similarly, the state Commissioner for Infrastructure, Land and Housing, Abiola Olawoye, described the exercise in Ondo West Local Government as peaceful and transparent.

“There was no crisis in Ondo West LG; everything went smoothly,” the commissioner said.

The Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Mr Gbenga Fasua, added, “We don’t have any issue. For Akure South, it has been calm and orderly, and of course, the results have been excellent.”

Pastor Olumide Obadele, Director General of Progressive Network for Tinubu in Ondo State, said the exercise was smooth and peaceful in Akoko North-East Local Government.

“We had a good time, and all the EXCO members of the local government were elected without any problem,” he stated.
