Paris Saint-Germain delivered an impressive performance to defeat Barcelona 4-2 in the UEFA Champions League, handing the Spanish side their first defeat of the season and extending PSG’s winning run in the competition.
The match at the Parc des Princes began with both teams looking to impose their attacking style, but PSG eventually broke the deadlock through Désiré Doué in the 38th minute. Barcelona responded after the break, with Xavi Espart equalising in the 55th minute to bring the visitors back into the contest.
PSG regained the lead in the 72nd minute when Lucas Hernández found the net, but Barcelona refused to give up. Lamine Yamal scored in the 79th minute to make it 2-2, setting up a tense final period.
The hosts responded almost immediately. Vitinha restored PSG’s advantage in the 81st minute before Fabián Ruiz struck five minutes later to secure a two-goal cushion and put the result beyond Barcelona’s reach.
PSG’s ability to respond under pressure proved decisive. Even after Barcelona twice fought their way back into the game, the French side maintained their attacking threat and punished defensive openings when it mattered most.
The victory strengthened PSG’s position in the Champions League league phase, with the reigning European champions making it three wins from three matches. For Barcelona, the defeat was a setback after their promising start to the season, exposing defensive concerns against an opponent capable of turning small opportunities into goals.
PSG will take confidence from the result, while Barcelona must regroup and address the mistakes that allowed the hosts to take control in the closing stages.
