The South-East Zonal Woman Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Oby Ajih, has said that President Bola Tinubu is creating opportunities that could pave the way for a woman to become Nigeria’s president in the future.

Ajih stated this on Thursday in Umuahia during the Abia APC Women Mid-Year Prayer Summit and Widows Empowerment Programme organised by the Abia APC Woman Leader, Lady Chino Erondu.

Ajih said, “Based on what President Tinubu has done, women have decided to give him their full support.

“Women are now being included in the affairs of the country, and they will no longer face hunger. One day, there will be a woman president in Nigeria.”

She also said that the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, had acknowledged the challenges faced by women in the country and encouraged them not to be discouraged.

According to her, the First Lady assured women that their situation would improve after the 2027 elections.

Speaking at the event, the organiser and Abia APC Woman Leader, Lady C.C. Erondu, said she understood the challenges faced by widows because she is also a widow.

She said, “I know the sufferings of widows, being a widow myself. That is why I decided to use the little I have to put smiles on their faces.”

Erondu informed the APC widows that the First Lady had assured them of her support and promised initiatives aimed at improving their welfare.

She also expressed optimism that the administration of President Tinubu would create employment opportunities for youths and their children.

In his goodwill message, the APC candidate for Aba North and South Federal Constituency, Uzor Azubuike, described the programme as “a sacrifice” by the Abia APC Woman Leader, noting that she assumed office less than a month ago.

Azubuike assured her of his support and commended her efforts in organising the event.
