Former Super Eagles striker Victor Anichebe is reportedly leading a bid to take over English League One club Bromley.
According to a report by The Sun, the former Everton forward is at the centre of talks with Bromley’s majority owner, Robin Stanton-Gleaves, over a possible takeover.
Bromley are preparing for their first-ever season in League One after securing two promotions in the last three seasons.
The club is expected to need major investment as it prepares to compete in the third tier of English football.
Anichebe, 38, spent more than a decade playing at the highest level in England. He represented Everton, West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland, making more than 250 senior appearances during his career.
If the takeover is completed, Anichebe would join a growing list of former professional footballers who have moved into club ownership.
The former Nigeria international could now begin a new chapter in football by becoming part of Bromley’s ownership as the club prepares for an historic League One campaign.
